Field research is performed using a number of design research methodologies including ethnographic interviews, questionnaires, concept mapping, fly-on-the-wall observation, tracking, scenarios and extreme users. A number of items of technical equipment are used to assist the measurement and analysis of the tactile, acoustic, thermal and visual stimuli, including 24 volt power supplies, digital tape recorders, accelerometers, amplifiers, FFT analysers, sound & vibration meters, optical cameras, thermal cameras and PCs.
