Research Interests
- • Characterize the global trends in the development of products and services focused on the Human Centred Design.
- • To realize the appropriated academic research to identify, analyze and define the different variables that integrate and support the strategic skeleton that has been created for the Human Centred Design Institute (HCDI).
- • To set down a single an appropriate meaning to explain the concept of Human Centred Design.
- • To analyze and propose different ways in which this model could and should be adopted into the current design models.
- • Identify and characterize the global trends in the development of products and services focused on the Human Centred Design.
The name of the Ph.D. project that Andres will be realizing is The Human Centred Design Framework: A way of creating and testing meaning in the 21st century which is focused into gathering all the different meanings that have been created and released into the Industrial Society about what means Human Centred Design, compile them into one single meaning, and to finding and propose ways on how this model could be used as a business and innovation strategy in order to give a much more clear idea about this concept, to all that companies willing to change their processes into a more user friendly design methodology.
This research, is directed towards the innovation and technological progress of the different enterprises and its contribution to the social and economical development of a country, as a way of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the investigative activity not only in the context of business but also educational. It seeks to consolidate elements that foster the dynamism of technological transference enabling companies have access to knowledge that are being generated in the world as part of the solution of economical and social problems. Therefore it should not be understood as a purely concept research, but that it has economical and social roots.
Andres Cervantes has a Master’s degree in Integrated Product Design from Brunel University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Colombia. During this courses he participate and realize, several projects addressing the understanding on how services and products could be proposed and manufactured in order to supplied successfully the many requirements and needs of society and as a result of this, he has left with competent knowledge in areas such as Materials, Technical Drawings, Quality Control, Model Making, Manufacturing Techniques, Research and Development.
